Taste Cumbria Food Festival 2013

Taste Cumbria Food Festival 2013 has been branded a huge success with over 20,000 people visiting Cockermouth, Cumbria, for the event. Cumbria Marquees were proud to be involved in setting up and assisting with various food and drink demonstration marquees and exhibitions.

We set up the marquee for Jennings Brewery where customers could sample various local ales. There was also a fully lined exhibition demonstration area which we set up.  We were responsible for setting up the marquee for one of the UK’s most accomplished and well respected chefs; Simon Rogan. For our Simon Rogan marquee one review was quoted as saying, “one of the highlights of the Taste Cumbria Food Festival 2013 was the Simon Rogan Pop Up, which seated 240 people over the days and was definitely a huge talking point of the festival.” Outside Cockermouth’s Trout Hotel, we put up their marquee and also set up a marquee for a children’s crèche.

It was all happening at the Taste Cumbria Food Festival 2013 and we had to make sure all of the marquees were built to the highest of standard – especially when the visitors came in their thousands. It was great success and a brilliant weekend which we thoroughly enjoyed being part of.

We look forward to going back to the festival in 2014!

Ladies Night at Carlisle Racecourse

Ladies Night at Carlisle Racecourse was in August 2013 and was an absolutely brilliant night. The star performer of the evening, Ronan Keating, tweeted, “Amazing night @carlisleraces hell of an audience. Thank you all. Loved it.” Ronan was making the stop off in Carlisle as part of the Cancer Research UK tour and thousands were there to witness it.

Cumbria Marquees were also there and we had a great night too! We had set up the clear span framed marquee for the event to help concert goers make the most of their evening. The marquee helps cater for different needs at the racecourse events we do – which includes the Christmas Fair – such as protecting visitors from the weather elements, whether it’s sun, wind or rain! It was raining heavily at the event but this didn’t put people off and thankfully our marquee was there to protect them and help them to make the most of this brilliant experience.

Wet Wet Wet will be headlining the 2014 Ladies Night at Carlisle Racecourse and Cumbria Marquees will make sure we are on hand to make sure the event runs smoothly once again – whatever the weather!

Carlisle Christmas Spectacular 2013

Carlisle Christmas Spectacular 2013 was held at the Borderway Exhibition Hall from December 20th – 23rd. It’s a great event that provides two hours of top class entertainment for all the family with a simple story about love, respect and the real meaning of Christmas. The production even involved real life animals provided by Walby Farm Park.

We here at Cumbria Marquees worked with and supplied H&H with the furniture and flooring for the event – including all the tables and chairs. We also put together and built dressing rooms for the performers to make sure they were prepared for giving the best show possible.

We can help out with so much more than just marquees as proven by our involvement in the Carlisle Christmas Spectacular 2013. Helping with the show was a lot of fun and we were really pleased to see it be a big success. For any events you may have coming up, find out how we can helping you put together a fantastic show!

Scotby Village Hall Wedding

Recently we organised a Scotby Village Hall Wedding with the event even receiving a supplement in the Cumberland news after it also hosted a charity event for Hospice at Home. For the wedding we completely transformed Scotby Village Hall giving a marquee, carpets, lighting, chandeliers, furniture like all the tables and chairs. The setting looked absolutely beautiful and helped to make for a fantastic wedding.

After doing all the work for the wedding, it seemed like such a shame to then have to take everything down. Thankfully, the bride came up with a brilliant idea to leave it up a few extra days at let Hospice at Home host a charity event there. Mrs Hayes said, “I spoke to Cumbria Marquees and they said it was fine to leave the marquee roof up until the Monday. If Hospice at Home can make £1000 out of it that will be great!” Of course we were happy to oblige with it being for such a good cause.

Hospice at Home is a charity which helps provide a free nursing service for people at the end stages of life who prefer to be cared for in their own homes. They also thought the idea was brilliant and decided to host a vintage afternoon tea party to help raise funds.

As well as Cumbria Marquees, the event was also supported by Vintage Blend China Tea-Ware Hire, Harps North West, Boyd Hair & Beauty and Casanova Menswear. It was a great day, just like the wedding, and we were pleased to provide such great facilities for everyone.

If you are looking to make that special day a bit more magical then get in touch and see how we can help. We do all […]
